Everyone at TSDL.ie would like to congratulate Clonmel Town’s Evan Comerford on becoming the latest addition to the growing number of players from the TSDL who have been called up to represent their country at Junior level.
Following trials in Munster, Connaught and extensive scouting throughout the country, Gerry Smith has named a 30 man squad for the upcoming Junior International Quadrangular tournament to be held in Limerick 3rd – 6th October. This is the tri-annual tournament involving the International teams of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and Republic Of Ireland. Scotland are the holders following their victory in Newcastle, Co Down in 2010. The 30 man squad includes 5 Tipperary players, 4 players from the TS&DL, James Walsh Chris Higgins, Paul Breen- St Michaels, Evan Comerford Clonmel Town and also Adrian Walsh from Carrick United. The squad is far reaching made up of players from Dublin, Tipperary, Limerick, Wexford, Killkenny, Roscommon, Donegal, Sligo and Mayo.
Over the coming weeks the squad will train and play warm up games and by the end of September the 30 man squad will be whittled down to 20. The games will be held in Limerick with further details to follow closer to the time.
