Paul Breen and Peter Acheson nominated for FAI International Awards

FAI International Player of the Year Awards 2008

The Eircom FAI 19th International Player of the Year Awards are being held on 8th February at the City West Hotel, Dublin when the winners will be announced ‘live’ on RTE 2 this Sunday 8th Feruary (8pm).

This year there will be plenty of interest from a Co. Tipperary viewpoint with no less than three players up for gongs.

In the Junior International category Paul Breen, a nominee in 2007, is again nominated following excellent performances for the Irish Amateur team in the EUFA Regions Cup qualifiers and the Quadrangular Junior Tournament in the Isle of Man. The St. Michael's defender will be up against another Tipperary hero in Wayne Fitzgerald who capped a magnificent season by helping Carrick United win their first ever FAI Junior Cup and also played in the Isle of Man.

In the FAI International Schools category all fingers will be crossed that Peter Acheson of Clonmel Town will become the first player from the Premier County to win an honour in this category.
