Goalpost Safety - Please note!

Player safety is of paramount importance to all.

It is a matter of regret that in recent years, serious injuries and fatalities have occurred arising from the inappropriate use of goalposts.

The Football Association of Ireland conducted an enquiry into best practice in the installation and maintenance of goalposts to help clubs tackle the problems.

The safety guidelines set out here represent a consensus of views on the subject from a multitude of sources from around the world, including goalpost manufacturers and suppliers.

They are designed to offer practical guidance toward protecting players' safety and increasing everybody's enjoyment of the game.
