Cup final weekend in Tipperary Ladies Soccer

Cup final weekend in Tipperary Ladies Soccer

In keeping with our new policy of trying to communicate all aspects of football in Tipperary, we’d like to let people know that the Tipperary Ladies Soccer league’s season is coming to a close this weekend, with their Cup final, Plate final and the Division 1 relegation play off.

There are 14 ladies soccer teams in Tipperary and they play in two divisions. The league is an all Tipperary league and some of the teams have had great success in recent years with wins at provinicial and national level. The season normally runs from March to September and the recently crowned league Champions in Division 1 were Killenaule and Division 2 were Nenagh Town. Tipperary Town Ladies were promoted alongside Nenagh Town to play in the First Division next season, and the Cup final weekend kicks off next Sunday with the Division 1 relegation final play-off between Sallypark Odhrans and BT Harps at 11 am in Villa Park Roscrea. This will be followed by the Plate Final between Nenagh Town and Tipperary Town Ladies at 1pm, with the grande finale between double chasing Killenaule and Division 2 underdogs Clerihan kicking off at 3pm. The final will be a repeat of last year where Clerihan were also a Division 2 team and shocked then champions Killenaule in a great game on Clonmel Celtic’s bypass pitch, so revenge will be heavy in the air
