Information about entry into Munster Junior Cup/Shield

Please note the following:

The Munster FA have added a second junior men’s competition this season, the Munster Shield, as well as the usual Munster Junior Cup.

The Munster Shield is restricted to teams OUTSIDE of the top two divisions in each of the leagues. However, a team outside of the top two divisions, can still choose to play in the Munster Junior Cup, but they cannot enter both competitions.

So, the following rules apply (with examples given)

Munster Junior Cup:

Teams in the top two divisions of each league, so in the TSDL, teams in the Premier League and Division 1

Also, any team in Division 2 and 3, can if they wish, enter into the Munster Junior Cup. However, they cannot enter both competitions, so if a Division 2 team enters the Munster Junior Cup, they cannot also enter the Munster Shield

Munster Shield:

Teams outside of the top two divisions in each league, so in the TSDL, only teams playing in Division 2 and 3 can enter the Munster Shield

Clubs with two teams in different divisions:

If a club has teams in different divisions, both teams can enter into Munster FA competitions, subject to the rules above.

For example,

Bansha Celtic have teams in the Premier League and in Division 3

Bansha Celtic A, can only enter into the Munster Junior Cup

Bansha Celtic B, can enter into the Munster Junior Cup or the Munster Shield, but not both

Entry Forms:

Entry forms for both Munster Junior Cup and Munster Shield, can be downloaded from the Home page of the website, and returned with the appropriate entry fee to either the Munster FA, or to Richie Power of the TSDL

This must be done, on or before Friday 11th of August, with no exceptions
