Rep of Ireland beat Spain in friendly

The Rep of Ireland Amateur team led by record-breaking team captain James Walsh of St. Michael’s FC played their final warm-up game prior to departure for San Marino this coming Monday for the UEFA Regions Cup 2013 qualifiers against England, Northern Ireland, and host San Marino next week.

This game played last night was in Whitehall, Dublin against Spanish representatives Catalonia that already qualified for the UEFA Regions Cup Finals in June. The result was a 2-1 victory to the Irish. 

It was good news for the four Co. Tipperary players with James Walsh playing the 90 minutes, goalkeeper Adrian Walsh of Carrick United the opening 45 minutes with Paul Breen and Jimmy Carr from St. Michael’s coming on in the second half.

The Rep of Ireland squad represented by players from Leinster and Munster were as follows:
