Which makes them the most important person on the pitch every week.. the men and women in the middle, our referees
But as the game is expanding in Tipperary, we need more people to get involved at every level of the game. So we are now asking people to consider taking up the whistle and getting involved in our great sport, by helping out to make games possible.
If we get enough people interested, the Referees Society in South Tipperary will arrange training and education, and will provide support as much as possible to prospective new referees. No former experience of playing is needed, but of course we would love to see some former players get back involved and bring those experiences back.
We would also like to see more ladies getting involved in refereeing. Over the past number of years, women’s and schoolgirls football has flourished, and we would now like to see ladies getting involved in officiating as well.
All you need is enthusiasm and interest, and leave the rest to us.
