The upcoming Club Registration Periods for the Amateur game as per
Regulation 11 are as follows
– For Clubs competing in the Summer Season, the Registration Window is
open from *Dec 1st until Feb 22nd* to register any players currently
Registered with another club on FAI Connect.
– For Clubs competing in the Winter Season, the Registration Window is
open *Jan 1st until Jan 28th* to register any players currently
Registered with another club on FAI Connect.
A player that is not registered with a club may register for a club at any
time, subject always to compliance with the provisions of these Regulations
including, but not limited to,: (i) Section 6, Regulation 2.4; and (ii)
Section 6, Regulation 11; the Periods for the Assignment of a Player to a
Competition.
In summary it’s important to note;
1. *A player registration no longer expires at the end of a playing
season*. The player remains registered to the club on FAI Connect until
the player Transfers or is mutually TERMINATED.
2. If a player is mutually terminated outside of the Registration Period
applicable to the new club wishing to sign the player, that player/club
must wait until the next Registration Period begins.
3. If a player who has just finished the 2023 Summer Season wishes to
move to a club Competing the 23/24 Winter Season, they must be SUBMITTED to
the FAI between *Jan 1st – Jan 28th *
4. If the same player above is mutually TERMINATED by their 2023 Summer
Season Club by Jan 28th, that player can register to any Club
(regardless of playing season) beyond Jan 28th but bound by the Periods
for the Assignment of a Player to a Competition i.e. Mar 31st for Winter
Season and Aug 31st for Summer Season.
5. If a player who has just finished the 2023 Summer Season wishes to
move to another club Competing in the 2024 Summer Season, they must be
SUBMITTED by the new club or TERMINATED by the old club on FAI Connect by
Feb 22nd.
If mutually TERMINATED by the old club beyond Feb 22nd, that
player can only register to another club when the next Registration Period
begins, Jul 1st.
