Dear All,
Thanks to the many clubs who have paid the Player Registration Levies to
the FAI over the past week. We have, however, received a few queries as to
the situation with respect to player registration and validity of matches,
if a club hasn’t been able to pay the Player Registration Levies to date.
We therefore wanted to clarify the position.
Firstly, whilst it is important that these Player Registration Levies are
paid as soon as possible, the FAI fully acknowledges that this is a new
process and system being implemented and the payment of player registration
levies may have been delayed for an unexpected reason, overlooked or not
processed from a bank transfer etc. The FAI does not want to unnecessarily
prevent football being played nor get into a situation where there is
uncertainty from teams/or protests lodged due to the non-payment of player
registration levies.
The FAI is therefore willing to offer a short “grace” period for payment.* All
Player Registration Levies must be received by the FAI by 5pm on Thursday
12th October 2023*. Any player whose club has not paid the player
registration levy for that player by this date, will be considered
ineligible.
Further to previous FAI Connect communications please be aware that for
clubs using the FAI Connect Competition Management module, until payment
has been received by the FAI then a player cannot be selected to play in
the Comet App (But with the same grace period as noted above for payments).
