St Michaels Junior Cup winning captain and the record holder of Irish Junior International caps James Walsh, will host a well-earned testimonial game in front of his home crowd of Cooke Park on Friday night in Tipperary Town. Affectionately known the country over as “Chalkie”, James has given over twenty years of service to the St Michael’s club, culminating in lifting the most prestigious trophy of all at the Aviva Stadium last Sunday. The game will be played between an Irish Junior International XI and an Irish Amateur International XI, and will consist of the top non-professional players in the country, with many of James’ friends and rivals over the years making an appearance. Admission to the game will be free on the night, and there will be a collection for local charities so good causes will also benefit.
