Peake Villa 2 – 0 Vee Rovers
The home side started quickly in this tie, and were rewarded in the sixth minute when Adam Garrett played a good ball through to Liam McCormack, who made no mistake finding the corner of the net. Despite this however, Vee played themselves back into the game, restricting their hosts to some long-range efforts for much of the rest of the half. They had two long range efforts themselves that went close, but in the end, there were no more goals and Villa went to half time a goal to the good. Vee were also dominant in the early stages of the second period, but once again the home sides defence stood up and made sure nothing got past. The home side made some changes early in the second half and this wrested the momentum from Rovers, before they finally doubled their advantage ten minutes from time when good work from Liam Mc Cormack seen him cross a great ball to Luciano Carelli who fired home a beautiful volleyed effort. The home keeper David Purcell was called into action in the six minutes from time, and he pulled off a fine save to keep a clean sheet, ensuring his side would run out the victors.

Moyglass 3 – 1 Rosegreen Rangers
The home team started strongly and were always on the front foot throughout the early part of this game, but found it hard to break down a very stubborn Rosegreen defence. Eventually the visitors found their feet and gave the hosts some trouble with their quick counter attacks, but eventually the deadlock was broken by Moyglass five minutes before the half time break, when Niall Doocey forced an error from the visiting defence and cleverly beat the keeper at his near post. That looked like it was going to be the only goal of the half, but the home side got a second in the forty fourth minute when a one two on the left between Craig Nolan and Alan Lyons left the Rangers defence flat footed when Lyons shot was parried, Ciaran O Loughlin finished with a deft touch from close in. Two behind at the break, the visitors pushed on more in the second half, and won a penalty in the sixty fifth minute, which was converted by Ian Shelly to bring the deficit back to the minimum. But five minutes later the home side added a third through Eddie O Brien to ensure that they would take all the points on offer.

Donohill and District 1 – 0 Bansha Celtic B
Donohill hosted Bansha Celtic’s seconds on Sunday morning, in what was a tough physical battle, where both teams tried hard but saw chances difficult to create. On the half hour mark Ned Lowry had an excellent chance to put the hosts in front, but scuffed his shot and saw it go the wrong side of the post. Level at the break, the game continued to be very scrappy into the second period, until twenty minutes from time, the hosts were awarded a penalty after Sean Ryan was adjudged to have been fouled in the area. The ever reliable from the spot Ned Lowry stood up, and made amends for his first half miss by sending the Celtic keeper the wrong way and put his side into the lead. After that they shut up shop and gave Celtic little chance to get back into the game, taking the three precious points as they strive to keep in touch with the teams at the top end of the division.

FAI Youths Cup, 2nd Round
Killavilla 1 – 5 Two Mile Borris
For the second week in a row, the Borris youths faced North Tipperary opponents in this year’s FAI Youths Cup, and once again they progressed after a dominant performance, this time away from home in Roscrea. Underfoot conditions were poor and a heavy stream of rain throughout the game didn’t improve matters. The TSDL side started well and immediately went on the attack, creating numerous chances right through the first half, but only to see a combination of brilliant goalkeeping, poor composure in front of gaol and sheer bad luck, seeing them go to the break scoreless. Things went from bad to worse immediately after the break when a long ball from Killavilla eluded the Borris defence and was finished to the net to give the hosts a surprising lead against the run of play. But this was the shock the visitors needed, and within a minute Tom Ryan equalised with a left footed curled effort into the top right corner of the net. They began to dominate again, and had the result wrapped up in the next ten minutes with goals from Tristan Troy and another from Ryan to make it three goals to one. He put the game to bed twenty minutes from time when he expertly rounded the keeper and fired home to claim his hat-trick. Jake Jordan added a fifth in the final minutes to put a real gloss on the score line.
TSDL Youths Division 1
Clonmel Celtic 3 – 1 Cashel Town
Celtic welcomed in form Cashel Town to the Bypass with both teams unbeaten in the league, in what promised to be an excellent game of football, and both teams delivered on the day. It was the visitors who settled quickest and took the lead after just five minutes when Cillian Fitzgerald rose at the back post to head his side in front. This lead to a period of dominance over the next quarter of an hour, and they were unlucky not to extend their lead on a few occasions, the closest being when a shot dropped onto the top of the home net when it seemed goal bound. But the home side managed to get to the break only a single goal behind, and regrouped, coming back out in the second period much more settled and determined to get something from the game. The Introduction of Luke Hannigan proved to be a big difference and within five minutes, he had hit the post with a great first-time effort. The home side continued to create chances but couldn’t convert until a Jack Aylward free kick was flicked home by Cillian O Brien to level the game, just after the hour mark. Once they had gotten level, they took over the game and with fifteen minutes to play fashioned an excellent move to free Hannigan in space in the Cashel area, and he fired his side in front with a rasping effort. Both Teams had chances in the last ten minutes of the game, with the away side desperate to get something from the tie. However it was Celtic that added a third in the last minute from a Jack Aylward free kick, and assure that all three points were staying with the home team.
Clonmel Town 3 – 5 Cahir Park
Both teams added to an eight-goal spectacular in this game, with the sides playing high octane, high pressing games right from the get go. The first chances fell to the visitors, but they were wasteful and had to see Town open the scoring in the twelfth minute when Harry Tobin took a ball to the end line before cutting back to Nazari Melnik to fired home from the middle of the area. But they weren’t able to hold onto that lead for long and within six minutes were level. The remainder of the second half was played mainly in midfield, with both sides creating half chances, and looked like going to the break without any more goals until Harry Tobin once again split the visiting defence, this time playing in Milo Mc Namara to calmly finish past the keeper and restore the home sides lead, a lead they took to the break. With their tails up, the hosts continued to press and early in the second period, they added a third when Melnyk broke into the box and slotted home his second of the day. But then a crazy five-minute spell saw the home side hand back all that advantage when they conceded two soft goals to their opponents, set up a fantastic finale to the game. The final turning point came when the home side were reduced to ten players after losing Jayden Mullery to injury after they’d used all their available substitutes, and Cahir took advantage of the extra player by adding two late goals to take the points on a scoreline of five goals to three.
TSDL Division 2
Galbally United 2 – 3 Two Mile Borris
This was a really entertaining Youths game that saw Borris prevail by the odd goal in five on Saturday afternoon last. The two teams were making chances from early on, and the home side eventually made one count when they opened the scoring in the fifteenth minute thanks to Aaron Flynn scrambling home from close in after a corner kick. But only minutes later Cian Dwyer fired back for Borris to level the game, and just before the break the same player added his and his sides second to send the visitors to the break a goal to the good. A third goal by Conor Ryan on the hour mark looked to have sealed the points for the away side, but Galbally did not lay down and a volleyed effort by Cian Ryan ten minutes from time brought the game back to a single goal again. Cue a frenzied finish from the hosts, who tried just about everything to secure a point. However in the end it wasn’t enough and Borris held on to take all three.
