Cahir Park B 3-2 Two Mile Borris
Cahir Park took the lead in the first 15 minutes with a good through ball from John O’Regan to David Halpin who slotted it in at the near post on the left-hand side. Two Mile Borris equalised 20 minutes later with a cross that wasn’t cleared by the defence and scrambled into the goal.
10 minutes into the second half David Halpin scored from outside the box with a quick pass from Liam Cleary to put Cahir Park back in front. Two Mile Borris kept the pressure on Cahir with constant attacks which eventually paid off with a ball played across the box to an free player who equalised again. With five minutes to go Cahir Park were awarded a penalty which John O’Regan slotted into the right-hand side of the goal to make it 3-2. Cahir held on to the lead for the last five minutes and it ended 3-2 to Cahir Park.
Shanbally 2-1 Peake Villa
Shanbally welcomed first division side Peake Villa to Scart for the Tipp cup semi-final and both sides looked to impose themselves on the game from the start but it was the home side who settled quickly and had Peake on the back foot with some good play down the wings. The final ball was missing however and Peake Villa made them pay when they broke away and scored despite the best efforts of Adam Sullivan and Ryan Breedy. Shanbally were knocked back from this and Peake nearly got a second only for Ryan Breedy to make a good save. But before half time United were on top with Pa Hennessy and Keelan Williams both testing Peakes keeper.
Shanbally pressed Peake in the second half and tried hard to create chances while Villa were very dangerous on the break. Ryan Breedy pulled off a couple of brilliant saves to keep Shanbally in the tie and it was like this until the final moments when Shanbally were camped in Peakes half but to their credit they were getting in blocks and good tackles. Shanbally won a free on 83 minutes and Colm O’Flynn pinged a lovely ball into the box and Conor English placed a bullet of a header into the top corner. And Shanbally pushed forward for the winner and won another free on the edge of the box on 89 minutes and again Colm O’Flynn sent in a great ball for Conor English and he hit a great shot past the Villa keeper. United were in front and 2 minutes later referee John Lyons who was top class blew his whistle for full time and the players celebrated a great win against one of the top clubs in Tipp.. This was a classic cup tie played in good spirits

FAI Junior Cup 1/4 Final
St Michael’s 1-3 (AET) North End Utd
North End wore down the dogged resistance of St Michael’s in a tough physical dour encounter at Cooke Park. In the early stages John Peare broke down the right and cut in but fired his effort wide of Kuba Ben’s goal. A Jimmy Carr cross following a free kick went across the area as Saints responded.
On three minutes Ed O’Dwyer won a ball and played in Colin Bargary but his effort went wide of Maguire’s goal. Jimmy Carr was brought down on the right wing and from the resultant free kick, Shane Ryan’s free was mishandled by Maguire and Ed O’Dwyer was on hand to bundle the ball home to give Saints a 1-0 lead. On 17 minutes the always dangerous Eoin Rhodes sent in a cross from the right, but the danger was cleared. Paul Murphy then found Robert Kane, but he delayed the shot and the Saints defence regrouped to avert the danger. Russell Quirke then picked up a ball on the left and with Maguire off his line saw his second effort go wide of goal. On 25 minutes Colin Bargary found Ed O’Dwyer on the left flank who cut in, but Maguire gathered his effort on goal.
North End’s Rhodes got in on the left, but Donagh Hickey was on hand to guard the goal and clear in the six yard box. Kuba Beben had to be sharp off his line on 32 minutes to come out on Niall Connolly before Jimmy Carr and Shane Ryan did well to clear danger as the half came to an end and Saints went in a goal to the good at Cooke Park.
Jimmy Carr went close with a header on 52 minutes from a Russell Quirke corner kick. On 57 minutes Saints went agonisingly close when Jimmy Carr got in a cross from the left and Ed O’Dwyer’s header hit the crossbar and went over. Donagh Hickey did well to head away a cross from Todd Hynes. Craig McCabe was booked for a heavy challenge on Colin Bargary on 62 minutes which sae Bargary receive treatment. Another left wing cross from Hynes on 66 minutes saw John Peare’s glancing header go wide of goal. Then on 67 minutes North End levelled when a free kick landed on the head of Eoin Rhodes who headed past Beben to make it 1-1. The goal energised North End and a cross on 76 minutes from Paul Murphy saw Reese Murphy head just wide of goal. Saints dug in and a curler from Ed O’Dwyer went just wide of Maguire’s goal. Kuba Beben came out late on to gather a free kick and seemed to pick up an injury before extra time in Cooke Park.
On 97 minutes substitute Darby Purcell got a half volley on a left wing cross, and it went inside the far post to make it 2-1 to North End. This was a huge blow to Saints who to their credit threw everything at North End but left gaps at the back in the process and Kuba Beben did well to thwart Rhodes who broke clear as the first period of extra time came to an end. On 109 minutes Cillian Coonan failed to get a clearance on a long ball for Rhodes who proceeded to beat Beben and seal a 3-1 victory for North End. North End were well organised and strong and had more options than Saints from the bench and they ran down the clock well after edging in front. Saints will be down after this loss but will bounce back with a domestic league and cup double to chase in South Tipperary.
Tipperary Cup 3rd Round
Peake Villa 1-2 Clonmel Town
Peake Villa were back to the domestic front on Sunday afternoon, where they entertained Clonmel Town in the Tipperary Cup.
Villa lost Evan McCormack in the second minute to a nasty injury in what was a typical cup tie, and like any cup competition, it was a very tight affair. Both defences played very well in the first half and were well on top.
Villa created the best of any half-chances in the first half, but they went in 0-0 at the break.
The second half saw the game open up more. The visitors broke the deadlock in the 54th minute when Monsur Emiabata scored.
This woke the home side up, and they equalised in the 58th minute when a Keith Cahill free kick was met by the head of Sean Condron.
It looked like the game was going to extra time, but Clonmel Town were awarded a free kick in the last minute that ended up reaching the 6 yard box and after a few rebounds the ball fell to Ian Healy who tapped in to win it at the death for Clonmel.
This was a disappointing result for a Villa team after the heroics in Limerick last week.
Clonmel Celtic 0-1 Bansha Celtic
A sweetly struck effort from Robbie Byron on 55 minutes was enough to settle this tie that sees Bansha Celtic advance to the Tipperary Cup Quarter final at a sunny Clonmel. It’s been a tough season for Bansha who look to be on their way to Division 1, but they took full advantage of a flat Clonmel Celtic performance. Celtic had the better of the opening stages but didn’t create enough clear openings as a rather uneventful first half finished level. Celtic came close early in the second half when Andrew Brown crashed a header against the Bansha bar, and the rebound was cleared off the line. The home team were rocked on 55 minutes when Robbie Byron connected with a corner kick to fire a fine effort home from the edge of the box. As expected, Celtic immediately upped their effort in response and were unlucky on a number of occasions not to draw level with Julian Kerton hitting the post and a Jack Purcell effort was just over after a fine solo run. With something to hold onto Bansha battled hard and held firm to record a welcome win.
St Nicholas 2-1 (AET) Killenaule
Killenaule got off to a dream start scoring in the 2nd minute when a cross was turned in for an own goal.
St Nicholas got on top in search of an equaliser, but Killenaule defended bravely with Michael Bolger producing some great saves. On the 36th minute St Nicholas equalised when James Scanlon got through on goal and finished well.
St. Nicholas continued to press in the 2nd half but couldn’t find the goal with more great saves from Bolger and excellent defensive blocks from Thomas Delaney and Keith Hanrahan. Extra time was more even, and penalties looked on the cards until a Brendan Collins cross was headed home by substitute Michael Miggles Maguire with two minutes of extra time remaining.
SC&K Utd 2-3 (AET) Cashel Town
A game played in splendid sunshine on a well-prepared pitch. The opening exchanges were cagey with each team sizing one another up. However, on 16 minutes a throw from Cianan O Brien was nodded on by Nathan Dolan for Shane Garland to finish with a powerful header. The next 25 minutes was uneventful. However, on 44 minutes Cashel got an equaliser when they got a free header from a corner and Jack Fitzpatrick headed powerfully home.
On 49 minutes poor defensive work left Cashel in and the cross was met by Kyle Ryan to make it 1-2 to Cashel. However, the home side continued to apply pressure to their more fancied opponents. SCKU pressed on for the remainder the half and the pressure told on 88 minutes when a corner was forced home by Shane Garland to make it 2-2.
It went to extra time and with tiring bodies there were numerous chances. However the winner eventually when Jack Fitzpatrick finished well for the away side.
TSDL Division 1
Tipperary Town 3-1 Vee Rovers
A sun drenched Arra Rd was treated to some top-class goals on Sunday afternoon.
Shane Mcgrath put Vee ahead on 10 minutes when he chipped the town keeper Timmy Esmonde from all of 40 yards out.
Tipp went looking for the equaliser and a Kevin Browne corner was powered home by Liam Murphy. Town took the lead when Dylan Cummins went on a solo run and brilliantly finished when hitting a thunderous finish into the top corner.
Tipp were very wasteful in front of goal in the 2nd half spurning a number of guilt edge chances.
Finally late on Ryan Maher found space and crossed for Kevin Browne to finish and the home side taking all 3 pts.
Peake Villa 5-0 Two Mile Borris
Villa reserves hosted Two Mile Borris B on Sunday afternoon in the Tower Grounds in a highly anticipated derby.
Villa started the game well and applied pressure from the offset and were rewarded after 10 minutes when a great through ball from Alex Moloney set Kieren Hennessy away with just the keeper to beat and he made no mistake.
On 16 minutes Kieren returned the favour and found Alex at the back post for a tap in 2.0 Villa.
The goal of the day came just shortly after on 24 minutes when Darren McGuire found Jordan Fahey with a 30-yard diagonal pass for Fahey to volley to Alex Moloney who made no mistake to finish in the box.
It did not stop there for Villa and only four minutes later Alex Moloney with yet another outstanding assist to Cathal McElgunn who rounded the keeper and tapped in to make it 4.0.
Borris to their credit never gave up the fight and continued to press forward with Jack Condon having to make a great save from Darren Ivers six minutes before the half.
Just on the stroke of half time Borris were reduced to 10 men when they lost a player to a second yellow card.
Four changes at half time for Villa introduced fresh legs to the team and Villa kicked on with Kieren Hennessy grabbing his second of the day to make it 5-0 at the full time whistle.

Cashel Town 1-3 Moyglass
Cashel will wonder how the game finished like this after spurning a number of very good chances in the first half they somehow went in 3-0 down with goals from Michael Hickey penalty Brian Delahunty and an own goal.
Cashel pulled one back in second half through Jak Hayes to leave the final score 1-3 at full time
Old Bridge 2-4 Ballingarry (No report supplied)
Peter O’Reilly Cup 1/4 Final
Kilsheelan United FC ‘B’ 1-3 Tipperary Town FC ‘B’
A disappointing result for Kilsheelan’s B side as they exited the Peter O’Reilly Cup at the quarter-final stage.
The visitors started the game on top and were awarded a penalty after ten minutes. However, the spot kick was brilliantly saved by Luke Keyes in the Kilsheelan goal.
The breakthrough came just four minutes later, as Dean Moore rifled an effort home from 15 yards for Tipp Town.
The visitors doubled their advantage 10 minutes into the second half despite Kilsheelan starting the half stronger, as Dylan Moore found space at the back post to give Tipp Town a 2-0 goal.
Kilsheelan continued to battle, and after Tipp Town were reduced to 10 men for a straight red card offence, pulled a goal back with 20 minutes to go when Brandon Landers’ free kick was deflected into the back of the net.
The home side piled the pressure on in search of finding an equaliser, but as they pushed bodies forward, the visitors scored with the last kick of the game through Dean Moore to secure their passage into the semi-finals.
Clonmel Celtic 3-2 (AET) Mullinahone
Clonmel Celtic B hosted Mullinahone in the 1/4 final of this year’s Peter O Reilly Cup.
The game started at a fast pace and Celtic were dealt a blow after 5 minutes when a late tackle on goalkeeper Ben Cooney had to be subbed off injured. On 20 minutes Celtic took the lead when Jack Burns delivered a great free kick to the back post and Jack Lawlor headed into the top corner.
The game continued even throughout the first half but with 40 minutes gone Mullinahone drew level after the ball broke in the box the Mullinahone striker finished well.
At the start of the second half it was even once again until Mullinahone got a penalty after a coming together in the box. This was slotted home for the away side to take the lead.
Both sides had big chances and but for some fantastic saves by stand in keeper Cillian Fitzgerald in the Celtic goal the game could have got away from Celtic.
The game looked to be heading to the away side when on 85 minutes Jack Lawlor got on the end of a long ball and slotted home to bring the game to extra time.
Celtic started well and after three minutes Dylan Kiely struck from inside the box to give Celtic the lead.
Once again chances were coming at both ends but it was Celtic who saw it through and progress to semi final.
Burcourt Celtic 1-2 Cahir Park
An entertaining cup tie played in lovely sunshine was a game of two halves. First half Cahir were the better side and created a few very good chances and on 30 minutes following a mix up in the Celtic defence Hischem Birem capitalised to fire home from 12 yards to make it 1-0 to Cahir. Burncourt came out fighting getting on the front foot and Dylan Fitzgerald and Pa Ryan getting better service up front. On 62 minutes Pa Ryan intercepted a defensive pass from Cahir and fired home from 6 yards to make it 1-1. The game ebbed and flowed from this with both sides having chances. As it looked like it was heading to extra time, a nice pass down the side of the Celtic defence was met by the inrushing Leigh Murphy to fire into the bottom right hand corner from 12 yards 2-1 on 77 minutes. Burncourt didn’t drop the heads and had three more chances all created by Dave Bakers excellent set piece deliveries with Kyle Hayes and Ben Doyle hitting the target but unfortunately straight at the keeper to leave the final score 2-1.
