Munster League Champions Cup – Quarter Final
Clonakilty 2 – 3 St. Michaels
St. Michaels booked their place in the semi-finals of the Munster Champions Cup after a dramatic comeback win away to Clonakilty. On a firm pitch and in blustery conditions, both sides found it hard to settle early, but the tie eventually burst into life after the break.
The hosts edged the first half, and after creating a handful of chances they took the lead right on the stroke of half time when Cian McShane pounced inside the area to fire past Adam Gallagher.
But the Saints came roaring out in the second half. Within two minutes of the restart, Willie Armshaw’s cross was handled in the box and captain Jimmy Carr made no mistake from the penalty spot. That lifted the visitors, and on 58 minutes Daniel O’Dwyer finished smartly from the inside channel to make it 2–1. A minute later it was 3–1, O’Dwyer turning provider to release Armshaw, who drilled home a clinical left-foot strike into the corner.
Clonakilty tried to respond, but Saints continued to threaten on the counter, with both Daniel and substitute Ed O’Dwyer going close. The home side gave themselves late hope when Collins converted a 90th-minute penalty to reduce the deficit to 3–2. That set up a nervy seven minutes of stoppage time, but Saints’ defence held firm to see them through.
A powerful third-quarter spell proved decisive for St. Michaels, who march into the semi-finals after a hard-fought away victory.

Cullen/Lattin 1–3 Cahir Park
Aisling Park Cullen hosted its first ever Premier Division fixture, but the visitors Cahir Park spoiled the occasion by taking all three points.
Cahir struck early through Ryan St. John, who finished smartly from 15 yards after pressing the Cullen backline. Minutes later, a header from Niall Daly struck a hand, and the veteran midfielder dispatched the penalty for 2–0.
Cullen rallied after the break, and Tony O’Neill cut inside to score a fine left-footed strike on 55 minutes. The home side pushed hard, O’Neill rattling the post and Dylan McGrath going close, but Cahir held firm. With five minutes left, Hichem Berim finished off a counterattack to wrap up a hard-fought 3–1 win.
A spirited second-half showing from Cullen, but Cahir’s cutting edge proved decisive.
Game of the Week – Premier Division Statement from Borris
Two Mile Borris St Kevins began their Premier campaign in ruthless form with a 6–1 demolition of Clonmel Celtic at Newhill Park.
It all started brightly for Celtic when Kyle Cuddy calmly converted from the penalty spot inside five minutes, giving the visitors hope of an upset. But once Borris found their stride, there was only one team in it.
A towering header from Lorcan O’Toole brought them level, and the hosts never looked back. Danny Treacy’s stunning 25-yard strike put them ahead, before Michael Anthony McCarthy clinically tucked away a third just before the interval.
After the restart, Borris turned the screw. Urban Nolan finished off a slick passing move on 50 minutes, Treacy lashed in his second shortly after, and McCarthy made it six with a cool finish on 65. The home crowd lapped it up as Borris sent a clear message: they mean business this season.
Peake Villa 3 – 0 Cashel Town
Peake Villa produced a polished performance at the Tower Grounds to ease past Cashel Town. The home side started with real intent, pressing high and forcing mistakes. Their breakthrough came in the 8th minute when Darragh Byrne slipped in Ronan McGuire, who finished sharply into the bottom corner.
Villa’s passing and movement continued to cause problems, and midway through the half McGuire doubled his tally with another composed strike. On 40 minutes, Byrne again turned provider, threading a clever ball to Kieran Hennessy, who coolly slotted home for 3–0.
The second half saw Villa manage the game well, rotating their bench and keeping possession. They almost added a fourth when full-back Peter O’Dowd unleashed a thunderous 30-yard strike that rattled the bar. Cashel worked hard but found Villa’s defence too well organised to break down. A strong start for Villa, who combined attacking flair with a clean sheet.

Wilderness Rovers 3 – 0 Galbally United
Wilderness opened their campaign with an assured performance at home to Galbally. The first half was a cagey affair, but three minutes after the restart Sam McSherry’s corner flew straight in to give the hosts the lead.
Galbally threatened from set pieces but Wilderness struck again on 73 minutes when Barry O’Sullivan slotted home after a rebound. The loudest cheer of the day came six minutes later as 16-year-old debutant Jayden Waters scored within minutes of coming on, lobbing the advancing keeper with style to seal the win.
Powerstown FC 2 – 1 Twomileborris B
Powerstown got their season off to a flyer in Redmondstown with a battling victory. John Allan Lowes was the hero, pouncing on a poor clearance to score from distance early on, before curling in a superb free kick to double the lead.
Twomileborris grew into the game after the break, and when Robbie Jordan tucked away a penalty, the pressure was on. But Powerstown had debutant keeper Oisín Martin to thank — the youngster pulled off a string of brilliant saves, including one one-on-one and another fingertip stop onto the bar, as the home side held firm for a gutsy three points.
Tipperary Town 3 – 3 Bansha
Honours ended even in a thrilling six-goal contest, with both sides showing grit and character in a game that swung back and forth.
Tipp Town edged a scrappy first half and took the lead on 35 minutes with a fine team move finished by Vinnie Godfrey. Early in the second half, Godfrey struck again after neat link-up play with Olek, doubling the hosts’ lead.
Bansha needed a response and got it when Tony Eagan coolly converted a penalty on 67 minutes. That sparked a huge momentum shift, and within 15 minutes the visitors turned the game on its head — Shane Eagan equalising with a sharp finish before Darren McGrath struck on 81 minutes to make it 3–2.
Just when it looked like Bansha would take all three points, Tipp Town found a late lifeline. Olek was fouled inside the area, and Godfrey kept his composure to complete his hat-trick from the spot with only three minutes of normal time left.
It ended level, and a draw felt a fair outcome after a contest full of twists, big moments, and no shortage of quality finishing.

Rosegreen Rangers 1 – 1 Cahir Park B
As expected between these two familiar rivals, it was another tight, hard-fought clash that ended with honours even.
Cahir Park had the benefit of the wind in the first half and looked the more threatening, while Rosegreen tested from distance through Adam Lyons and Sean Cormac. The visitors struck just before the interval when Hichem Berim followed up smartly after Andy Fitzpatrick’s free kick was parried, giving Cahir a 1–0 half-time lead.
With the wind at their backs in the second half, Rosegreen pushed forward and eventually got their reward. A whipped free kick from Bradley Barry found Dan Corbett, who finished clinically to level the game. Despite late pressure from both sides, neither could find a winner, and a 1–1 draw felt a fair reflection of another close battle between these two.
Vee Rovers 2 – 3 Old Bridge
Drama from start to finish in a cracking game. Adam Chance put Old Bridge ahead early, but Vee responded with a thunderbolt from Dylan Keating. The home side then spurned a glorious chance to lead when they missed from the penalty spot.
Bridge punished them when Gino Lonergan whipped in a sublime free kick on 35 minutes, but Vee keeper Ryan Breedy levelled matters in spectacular fashion — scoring direct from inside his own half! Just when it looked like the spoils would be shared, Lonergan produced another dead-ball masterpiece late on to win it for Old Bridge.
Peake Villa B 5 – 1 Suirside FC
It was a tale of two halves at the Tower Grounds. Suirside stunned the hosts by taking the lead after 18 minutes through John Darmody following a defensive slip. But after the break Villa came out flying, and the goals flowed.
Eoin O’Dwyer slotted in the equaliser before Cathal McElgunn blasted Villa ahead with a screamer into the top corner. McElgunn then turned provider, setting up Jason Patterson for two poacher’s finishes, before Cian O’Dwyer capped the rout late on. A five-star second-half performance from Villa’s seconds.

St Nicholas 0 – 5 Mullinahone
Mullinahone announced themselves as early contenders with a ruthless display at Danny O’Dwyer Park, putting five past St Nicholas on the road.
The opening half was competitive, with the hosts defending bravely, but the breakthrough came on 35 minutes when Eoin O’Dwyer pounced from close range. Half-time: 1–0.
After the restart, Mullinahone stepped up the pressure, and O’Dwyer struck again with a powerful header to double the lead. St Nicholas had a golden chance to respond when awarded a penalty, but Jason Sutton’s effort was well saved by the visiting keeper.
That miss proved costly, as Mullinahone pulled away. Wayne Laslett headed home a fine cross to make it three, before an unfortunate own goal put the result beyond doubt. The visitors rounded things off in style when Mike Cooper rifled in a direct free kick late on.
A convincing 5–0 win and a big statement from Mullinahone in their season opener.

Killenaule 4 – 2 Mullinahone B

That stung Killenaule into life, and they grew into the contest, controlling possession and creating chances. Their pressure was rewarded just before half time with a well-taken header to make it 1–1 at the break.
The second half started much like the first, Mullinahone again striking early — this time Conor Maguire finding the net with a composed finish. But Killenaule refused to panic. Their persistence paid off when they equalised from the penalty spot, then pushed on to score again soon after, turning the game on its head at 3–2.
Mullinahone kept battling and looked dangerous on the break, but Killenaule sealed the points late on with a fourth goal to finish 4–2. Tipperary Town B kicked off their home campaign in style, coming from behind to secure a strong win against Donohill in the afternoon sunshine.
The visitors started brighter and were rewarded after 20 minutes when Joey Shanahan confidently converted from the spot. Tipp’s Jamie Ryan went into the book soon after, but the home side grew into the game. On 30 minutes, Mark McInerney broke up play down the left and squared for Rory Carroll, who coolly levelled matters. Half-time: 1–1.
Donohill pressed with corners early in the second half, but Tipp’s back four stood firm. On 58 minutes, the hosts were awarded a penalty, and Dean Moore sent the keeper the wrong way to edge them ahead. With fresh legs introduced from the bench, Tipp turned the screw, and with 10 minutes remaining, Kevin Browne lit up the game with a stunning overhead kick to seal the win.
A fine performance all-round and a dream start at home for new manager Marcus Godfrey.
Clonmel Celtic 2 – 2 Dualla
All four goals came after the interval in a gripping draw at Ferry house. Colin Bourke gave Dualla the lead, but Celtic’s youngsters fought back through Dylan McCormack. Dualla hit the front again thanks to Eoin Moloughney, before Jack Boland thundered in the equaliser from distance. Celtic poured forward late on, only to be denied by inspired saves from the Dualla keeper.
Cashel Town 4 – 2 St. Michael’s
Cashel Town made a flying start at Palmershill, racing into a two-goal lead inside the opening ten minutes through Craig Doyle Carroll and James Harding. St. Michael’s hit back quickly, with Mikey Bowe finding the net after 15 minutes to reduce the deficit.
Just before half time, Bowe struck again to level the game 2–2, sending both sides into the break on even terms.
The second half began much like the first, with Cashel re-establishing their lead thanks to a spectacular long-range effort from Guido. Substitute Eoin Rice then sealed the points with a superb counter-attacking goal 15 minutes from time, securing a deserved victory for the home side.
Burncourt Celtic 1 – 2 SC&K United B
SC&K B left Ballyhurrow with all three points after a tight contest that turned on a second-half penalty.
Burncourt started brightly and went ahead on 25 minutes when a corner was whipped in and met by Pa Ryan, who rose highest to nod home from close range. The hosts continued to play some good football, with Dylan Ryan and Pa Ryan covering acres of ground and Dean Cummins proving a constant menace up front, but it stayed 1–0 at the break.
The visitors came out firing in the second half and eventually found their equaliser when Daniel Condon pounced from close range. Celtic almost restored their lead when Cummins rattled the crossbar, but the game swung on 75 minutes when SC&K were awarded a penalty for handball. Aaron Costin stepped up and made no mistake from the spot, blasting past Joseph Devine to put his side 2–1 up.
Burncourt pushed hard late on, with substitute Cian Collins going closest after breaking through, only to see the ball get away from him inside the box. Despite their efforts, the visitors held out until Aidan Butler’s final whistle to secure a valuable away win.
