Saturday the 14th of February 2026 Youth Div 1

Youth Division 1

Peake Villa 6 – 0 Cahir Park

Peake Villa’s youths delivered a statement performance on home soil, overpowering Cahir Park in a game that was effectively settled long before the final whistle.

From the opening exchanges, Villa played with intent and purpose. Their movement was sharp, their pressing coordinated, and the chances began to flow early. The breakthrough arrived when Jacob Magalinski finished confidently after sustained pressure. The lead was doubled before the interval when Charlie Lawlor — lively and relentless throughout — found space in the box and converted to make it 2–0 at half-time.

The weather deteriorated after the restart, but Villa’s standards did not. If anything, they intensified. Lawlor added his second with a poacher’s instinct finish, while Jason Patterson struck twice to stretch the margin further. The goal of the game came courtesy of Roman Katrich, who unleashed a superb strike from the edge of the area that left the goalkeeper rooted. Izaghi Freitas completed the rout with a composed, delicate finish to cap a dominant display.

At the back, James Burke was commanding at centre-half, dealing comfortably with everything thrown his way.

Verdict: A ruthless and disciplined performance from Peake Villa. Clinical in front of goal and solid defensively — a complete team display.

Youth Division 2 Cup Semi Final

Shanbally 2 – 6 Mullinahone

In heavy and worsening conditions, Shanbally faced a difficult afternoon against a sharp Mullinahone side in the League Cup.

Despite missing players and carrying illness in the squad, Shanbally started brightly. Their early attacking intent paid off when Adam Sullivan threaded a superb pass to Pa Hennessy, who beat his marker and delivered a pinpoint cross for Harry O’Grady to finish neatly into the corner. It was a deserved lead built on energy and wing play.

However, momentum shifted late in the half. Mullinahone struck twice in quick succession — first with a powerful finish after exploiting pace in behind, and then from the edge of the box to turn the game on its head at 2–1.

The second half proved increasingly difficult. With players unable to continue due to illness and conditions worsening, Mullinahone capitalised and extended their advantage ruthlessly to 6–1. To Shanbally’s credit, heads did not drop. Harry Byrne pulled one back as the rain lashed down, a small reward for sustained effort.

Verdict: A tough result shaped by circumstances, but Shanbally showed character. Mullinahone were clinical when the game swung in their favour.

Premier League

St Michaels 2 – 0 Cahir Park

On a stormy afternoon at Cooke Park, St Michaels ground out a professional win against a stubborn Cahir Park outfit.

David Slattery opened the scoring in the first half with a composed finish, giving the home side a foothold in difficult conditions. The wind and rain disrupted rhythm for both teams, turning the contest into a battle of territory and resilience.

Cahir Park pushed for an equaliser but struggled to carve out clear chances. Daniel O’Dwyer sealed the points in the second half, finishing confidently to double the lead and remove any late doubt.

Verdict: Not a classic in terms of fluid football, but a controlled and efficient performance from St Michaels in testing weather.

Premier League

Two Mile Borris 3 – 2 Clonmel Town

With the title race tightening, Two Mile Borris delivered a high-intensity performance to edge Clonmel Town in a five-goal thriller.

Borris started brightly and were rewarded in the 15th minute when Ben Slattery finished a slick passing move. Jake Jordan doubled the lead after 25 minutes, latching onto Tom Ryan’s incisive through ball.

Clonmel responded through Dean Clarke’s low drive to make it 2–1, but Jordan restored the cushion in spectacular fashion, cutting in from the right and unleashing a left-footed rocket into the top corner for 3–1.

The second half saw Borris dominate possession but fail to kill the game. That hesitation nearly proved costly when Ian Healy struck from distance in the 85th minute. The closing stages were tense, with Clonmel throwing everything forward, but Borris held firm.

Verdict: Entertaining, high-stakes football. Borris showed attacking quality but will know game management nearly cost them.

Division 1

Galbally 3 – 5 Powerstown

An eight-goal spectacle unfolded as Powerstown edged a dramatic contest.

Brian McKeown set the tone early, scoring inside three minutes. Cathal Flynn equalised quickly, but McKeown struck again before Mark Olney made it 3–1. Ger Quinlan ensured Galbally stayed in touch before the break at 3–2.

Flynn levelled again on 61 minutes, setting up a grandstand finish. John Alan Lowes produced a superb strike on 74 minutes to put Powerstown ahead once more. As Galbally chased, McKeown completed his hat-trick with a late breakaway goal to seal it.

Verdict: End-to-end and full of attacking quality. Powerstown’s cutting edge proved decisive.

Two Mile Borris B 2 – 4 Bansha Celtic

In heavy conditions at Newhill, Borris B produced a spirited display but were undone by Bansha’s efficiency.

After a scoreless first half, the game burst into life. Robbie Byrne headed Bansha in front, Darren McGrath added a penalty, and although Borris responded through Michael Anthony McCarthy, Kevin Mullins restored control with a long-range effort. Further penalties and late drama followed, but Bansha’s physicality and composure saw them home.

Verdict: The scoreline flattered Bansha slightly. Borris B showed heart but were punished for defensive lapses.

Division 2

Peake Villa 2 – 2 Vee Rovers

A crucial clash at the Tower Grounds ended in frustration for Villa.

Adam Garrett opened the scoring after sustained pressure, and Liam McCormack doubled the advantage early in the second half. For 20 minutes Villa looked in full control.

But Ryan Breedy’s strike reignited Vee, and a late Thomas Bourke free-kick stunned the home side. Villa pressed desperately for a winner but could not find it.

Verdict: Two points dropped for Villa after dominating large spells. Vee showed resilience and belief.

Division 3

Cashel Town B 1 – 2 Slievenamon Celtic/Kilsheelan United B

Played under heavy rain at Cahir Park Astro, this was a hard-fought contest.

Aaron Costin gave SC&K B the lead before Ian Hahessy converted a penalty to level at half-time. Costin struck again in the 60th minute, and despite late Cashel pressure, the visitors held on.

Verdict: A tight battle decided by clinical finishing. SC&K B managed the decisive moments better.

Mullinahone B 0 – 6 Donohill

Donohill produced a dominant performance, leading 3–0 at half-time and never easing off.

Mullinahone battled throughout but struggled to contain Donohill’s movement and precision in the final third. The visitors controlled tempo and territory from start to finish.

Verdict: A commanding and clinical display from Donohill. Mullinahone will look to regroup quickly.
