Youth Division 2

Mullinahone 1 – 6 Peake Villa

Peake Villa produced a dominant display to run out comfortable 6–1 winners away to Mullinahone.

The home side actually opened the scoring early on when a corner caused confusion in the Peake defence and the loose ball was eventually forced over the line. However, that lead was short-lived as Peake Villa quickly found their rhythm and began to control proceedings.

Mullinahone were dealt a significant blow when an injury reduced them to ten players, and Peake Villa took full advantage of the extra space. The visitors began to dominate possession and carved open the Mullinahone defence repeatedly.

By half-time Peake Villa had turned the game around to lead 4–1, effectively putting the result beyond doubt. The second half followed a similar pattern, with Peake continuing to press forward and add two further goals to complete a convincing 6–1 victory.

Verdict: Once Peake Villa settled into the game they were far superior and punished a depleted Mullinahone side with an impressive attacking performance.

Cashel Town 1 – 0 St Michael’s

Cashel Town secured a hard-earned 1–0 victory over St Michael’s in a tightly contested youth encounter.

The decisive moment arrived in the first half when Evan Ryan found space in the box and finished calmly to give Cashel the lead. Both sides battled hard throughout, with St Michael’s pushing for an equaliser and Cashel looking dangerous on the counter.

The game produced late drama when St Michael’s were awarded a penalty, but Cashel goalkeeper Jamie Gayson produced a superb save to deny the visitors and preserve his side’s advantage.

Cashel held firm in the closing minutes to claim all three points.

Verdict: A disciplined defensive display and a crucial penalty save ensured Cashel Town came away with a valuable win.

SC&K United 0 – 4 Clonmel Town

Clonmel Town’s second-half quality proved decisive as they ran out 4–0 winners away to SC&K United.

The home side worked tirelessly in the first half and defended well, frustrating Clonmel Town despite the visitors enjoying the majority of possession. SC&K adopted a deep defensive approach and managed to keep the game scoreless at the break.

However, the pressure eventually told in the second half as Clonmel Town struck twice in quick succession to take control of the match. As SC&K pushed forward in search of a way back, gaps began to appear in their defence.

Clonmel Town capitalised on those openings with two further goals late in the game to seal a comprehensive victory. Shane Hennessy scored twice, with Dylan McCormack and Sultan Gazelle also finding the net.

Verdict: SC&K battled well early on, but Clonmel Town’s attacking quality eventually overwhelmed them.

FAI Junior Cup

Bansha Celtic 1 – 2 Peake Villa

Peake Villa progressed to the next round of the FAI Junior Cup after edging past Bansha Celtic in a competitive encounter.

Bansha had the first major opportunity when Robbie Byron forced an excellent save from the Peake goalkeeper. The visitors eventually broke the deadlock on 25 minutes when Pippy Carroll controlled the ball in the box, turned sharply and finished well.

Bansha responded just before half-time when Danny Ryan finished from close range to level the score at 1–1 going into the break.

Peake regained the lead on the hour mark when a cross from the right was turned home at the back post by Carroll for his second of the afternoon.

Bansha pushed hard for an equaliser and came agonisingly close when Darren McGrath’s effort was tipped onto the crossbar, but Peake held on to secure their place in the next round.

Verdict: A clinical performance from Pippy Carroll proved the difference in a tightly contested cup tie.

Two Mile Borris 1 – 3 St Michael’s

St Michael’s produced a strong second-half comeback to defeat Two Mile Borris and advance in the FAI Junior Cup.

Borris started brightly and took the lead in spectacular fashion on 25 minutes when Louis Coughlan fired an unstoppable 40-yard free kick into the top corner.

The home side led 1–0 at half-time and looked comfortable, but St Michael’s emerged after the break with renewed intensity. Their pressure paid off on the hour mark when Jimmy Carr set up Daniel O’Dwyer to finish from close range.

The momentum continued to swing in Michael’s favour, and O’Dwyer struck again on 75 minutes to give his side the lead.

As Borris pushed forward in search of an equaliser, St Michael’s struck on the counter in injury time, with O’Dwyer completing his hat-trick to seal a 3–1 victory.

Verdict: Daniel O’Dwyer’s clinical hat-trick turned the game on its head and carried St Michael’s into the next round.

Donohill 1 – 0 Wilderness

Donohill advanced to the next round after a narrow but deserved 1–0 victory over Wilderness.

The only goal of the game arrived around the 20-minute mark when Brian Buckley finished off a well-worked team move to give the home side the lead.

Both teams created chances throughout the remainder of the match, but Donohill’s defence held firm to secure a clean sheet and progression in the competition.

Verdict: A disciplined performance from Donohill ensured Buckley’s early goal proved decisive.

Mullinahone 1 – 1 Clonmel Town (AET)

Clonmel Town win 7–6 on penalties

A dramatic cup tie saw Clonmel Town eventually overcome Mullinahone in a thrilling penalty shootout.

Both sides battled fiercely over 120 minutes with little separating them. The teams traded goals during normal time and neither side could find a winner during extra time despite several promising opportunities.

The match ultimately went to penalties where Clonmel Town kept their composure to win an epic shootout 7–6 and secure their place in the next round.

Verdict: An evenly matched contest settled only by the finest of margins in a dramatic penalty shootout.

Tipperary Cup – Quarter Final

Clonmel Celtic 1 – 3 Galbally

Galbally produced an impressive performance to defeat Clonmel Celtic 3–1 and reach the semi-finals of the Tipperary Cup.

After an evenly contested opening period, Ger Quinlan broke the deadlock on 37 minutes to give the visitors a narrow lead at the break.

Quinlan struck again shortly after the restart to double Galbally’s advantage, before turning provider to set up Eoin O’Mahony who made it 3–0 on the hour mark.

Celtic managed a late consolation through Niall Prendergast on 85 minutes but the result was never in doubt.

Verdict: Galbally’s attacking trio proved too strong as they powered into the last four.

Paddy Purtill Cup – Semi Finals

Ballingarry Albion 4 – 2 Rosegreen (AET)

Ballingarry Albion booked their place in the Paddy Purtill Cup Final after a dramatic extra-time victory over Rosegreen.

Rosegreen made the stronger start and took the lead from the penalty spot on 26 minutes before quickly doubling their advantage with a superb strike from the edge of the box.

Ballingarry responded just before the break when Adrian Maher headed home from an Eddie Mullaly corner.

The home side continued to press and were rewarded on 53 minutes when Darragh Maher headed over the advancing keeper to make it 2–2.

With the game heading for penalties, Ballingarry finally took the lead in extra time when Dylan Meagher headed home from Mullaly’s cross. Darragh Maher sealed the victory late on with a composed finish after racing clear.

Verdict: Ballingarry’s persistence paid off as they overturned a two-goal deficit to reach the final.

Peake Villa (B) 2 – 1 Two Mile Borris (B)

Peake Villa B secured their place in the Paddy Purtill Cup Final after a hard-fought win over Two Mile Borris B.

Villa took the lead when Liam McCormack rifled a powerful shot into the side netting following good build-up play. Adam Garrett doubled the lead midway through the half with a superb strike from outside the box.

Borris responded just before the interval when Eamon Ryan converted a free kick to make it 2–1.

The second half was a tense affair with both sides battling hard. Robbie Stapleton came close several times for Villa, but excellent goalkeeping kept Borris in the game.

Despite late pressure from the visitors, Villa defended resolutely to secure the win.

Verdict: A strong defensive effort and standout performance from Robbie Stapleton helped Villa reach the final.

Premier League

Cashel Town 2 – 1 Cahir Park

Cashel Town secured an important victory over Cahir Park after establishing a first-half advantage.

Lee Riordan opened the scoring on 25 minutes following a positive spell from the home side. Cashel extended their lead shortly before half-time when Cathal Quinn finished well to make it 2–0.

Cahir Park pushed hard in the second half and eventually pulled one back through Willie Dunne in the 90th minute, but Cashel held firm to secure the three points.

Verdict: Cashel’s strong first-half display proved enough despite a late push from Cahir Park.

Division 1

SC&K United 2 – 3 Tipperary Town

Tipperary Town edged a thrilling encounter with SC&K United in a five-goal contest.

Tony Byrnes opened the scoring for Tipp before Gus Nolan levelled for SC&K. Vincent Godfrey restored the visitors’ lead with a stunning 40-yard strike, but Ben O’Connell responded immediately to make it 2–2.

SC&K enjoyed long spells of pressure but Tipp remained resilient and eventually grabbed the winning goal following a scramble in the box.

Verdict: Tipperary Town’s resilience under pressure helped them secure a valuable away victory.

Division 2

Suirside 0 – 2 Oldbridge

Oldbridge claimed three points after a hard-fought victory over Suirside.

The breakthrough came on 23 minutes when an error from the Suirside goalkeeper led to a penalty, which Jake Mulcahy converted.

Suirside battled hard throughout the second half and created several chances but were unable to find an equaliser. Oldbridge sealed the win late on when Davie Barrett scored in the 88th minute.

Verdict: Clinical finishing and solid defending helped Oldbridge secure the win.

St Nicholas 2 – 3 Vee Rovers

Vee Rovers claimed a dramatic late victory away to St Nicholas.

Tom Quirke opened the scoring early for Vee before Brian Lowry equalised for the hosts. Aidan Riordan then gave St Nicholas the lead just before half-time.

The visitors fought back in the closing stages, equalising through Kennedy before Paddy Morrissey struck in the 88th minute to seal a dramatic win.

Verdict: Vee Rovers showed great determination to turn the game around late on.

Division 3

Killenaule 7 – 1 Dualla

Killenaule delivered a commanding performance as they ran out emphatic 7–1 winners over Dualla.

The home side dominated from start to finish, creating numerous chances and showing excellent attacking movement throughout the game.

Verdict: A dominant display from Killenaule highlighted their attacking strength.

Cashel Town (B) 7 – 0 Mullinahone (B)

Cashel Town B produced a ruthless attacking display to defeat Mullinahone B 7–0.

Cashel led 4–0 at half-time thanks to goals from Craig Doyle Carroll, Cian McGrath, James Harding and Alan O’Brien.

The hosts continued their dominance after the break with Cillian Mackey scoring twice before Luke Doyle completed the scoring late on.

Verdict: A complete performance from Cashel Town B saw them control the match from start to finish.
