Consistency vs Firepower – Title Race Defined
Peake Villa
Villa’s attacking power has been one of the stories of the season. When they hit stride, they overwhelm teams early, as seen in dominant first-half displays. However, cup elimination on penalties after dramatic comebacks shows fine margins at this level.
Surprise result: Late extra-time fightbacks in Munster competition showcased resilience despite exit.
Two Mile Borris St Kevin’s
Arguably the most exciting team to watch. Borris have combined pace, aggression and confidence, delivering statement wins in heavy conditions. Defensive lapses have occasionally crept in, but their attacking edge keeps them firmly in contention.
Surprise result: High-scoring wins and dramatic league battles underline their title credentials.
Cahir Park
Cahir have built their campaign on organisation and physical presence. Home form has been strong, and they have taken points off top sides. Consistency remains their challenge, but they are never an easy opponent.
Surprise result: Convincing wins against stronger-ranked opposition in league competition was a highlight.
St Michael’s
The reigning champions remain the benchmark. Saints have shown their trademark patience and game control, grinding out tight wins while also producing ruthless cup performances. Their ability to win ugly has kept them at the summit.
Surprise result: Narrow league defeats did not derail momentum; instead, emphatic Tipp Cup wins reinforced their authority.
Clonmel Celtic
Celtic have quietly put together a solid season. Disciplined away performances and improved defensive structure have yielded valuable points. They have shown they can frustrate title contenders.
Surprise result: Strong away wins combined with narrow losses highlight growing maturity.
Cullen Lattin
New to the division, Cullen Lattin have battled gamely. While results have been mixed, they have shown flashes of quality and remain competitive against established sides.
Surprise result: Narrow defeats where performances deserved more.
Cashel Town
Cashel have shown real grit in the lower half of the table. Recent league victories have lifted confidence, and they remain difficult to break down, particularly at home.
Surprise result: Crucial wins in relegation-pressure games showing character.
Clonmel Town
Town have been competitive in most fixtures but struggled to convert performances into points. Their involvement in high-scoring thrillers shows attacking quality, but defensive concentration has cost them.
Surprise result: Dramatic defeats despite strong spells of dominance.
