WEEK 17 MATCH REPORTS

Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th January 2026

Youth Division 2

Mullinahone 3 – 3 St. Michaels

A thoroughly entertaining contest that truly was a game of two halves. St. Michaels started brightly and were the more clinical side in the opening period, earning a deserved 2–1 lead at the break after capitalising on their early dominance.

Mullinahone emerged with renewed purpose in the second half and took control of proceedings, striking twice without reply to swing the momentum firmly in their favour. St. Michaels, to their credit, dug deep and ensured the points were shared after a frenetic closing spell.

Verdict: A high-quality Youth encounter with momentum swinging both ways. A draw was ultimately the fairest outcome for two well-matched sides.

Shanbally 2 – 5 Clonmel Celtic

Played in freezing conditions in Scart, this was an open and competitive game with both sides committed to playing good football. Shanbally started positively and created the better chances early on, with Jack Sullivan unlucky not to score from a corner.

Harry Byrne put Shanbally ahead on 20 minutes, but Clonmel Celtic responded strongly and went in 2–1 up at the interval. As Shanbally pushed forward in search of an equaliser, Celtic punished them on the counter-attack to extend their lead to 4–1.

Pa Hennessy pulled one back for Shanbally after a well-worked move, but Celtic had the final say, adding a fifth to seal a convincing away win.

Verdict: A flattering scoreline but a deserved win for a clinical Clonmel Celtic side who punished Shanbally’s ambition on the break.

Division 2

Cahir Park B 1 – 2 Peake Villa B

In the first competitive outing after the Christmas break, Peake Villa B began the sharper of the two teams. An early free-kick found Cathal McElgunn unmarked in the area, and he made no mistake to open the scoring. Minutes later, McElgunn struck again, breaking through the back line and calmly finishing to make it 2–0.

That second goal sparked Cahir Park into life, and they were rewarded when Kyle Delaney pulled one back before half-time. Peake Villa were unfortunate not to extend their lead just before the break when a fierce volley struck both posts and bounced clear.

The second half saw Cahir Park dominate possession and push hard for an equaliser. Chances came and went, with the closest effort falling to Craig Guiry late on, whose shot rattled the post from close range.

Peake Villa defended resolutely in the closing stages to secure all three points.

Verdict: A strong first half laid the foundation for Peake Villa B, while Cahir Park B will rue missed opportunities after a dominant second-half performance.

Premier League

Two Mile Borris 7 – 1 Cullen/Lattin

The only Premier League fixture of the weekend saw Two Mile Borris deliver a statement performance to move to the top of the table. Borris started brightly and created several early chances before eventually breaking the deadlock on 30 minutes when Jake Jordan fired home from close range.

Stuart Hanrahan doubled the lead just before half-time with a well-timed header, giving Borris a commanding platform. The second half followed a similar pattern, with Borris dominating midfield through Tom Ryan and Jason Kelly.

Jack Delaney made it 3–0 on 55 minutes, and Urban Nolan added a deserved fourth shortly after. Late goals from Jamie Lee and a second from Jake Jordan extended the lead before Tony O’Neill grabbed a consolation goal for Cullen/Lattin in the final minute. Jamie Lee then completed the scoring in injury time with his second of the game.

Verdict: A ruthless and dominant display from Two Mile Borris, underlining their title credentials and sending a clear message to the rest of the Premier League.
