Peake Villa 4 – 2 St Michaels

Peake Villa continued their impressive late-season surge as they made it nine league victories in a row with a well-earned win over rivals St Michaels in an entertaining Youth Division clash.

The visitors struck first after ten minutes when they capitalised on a defensive lapse to take an early lead and silence the home support. Villa, however, responded in positive fashion and began to settle into the game with some composed passages of play through midfield.

Their equaliser arrived midway through the half when Darragh O’Dwyer produced a superb finish to level the match. Charlie Lawlor came close to giving Villa the lead soon after when he raced through on goal, but a heavy touch allowed the St Michaels goalkeeper to close him down and prevent the chance.

The remainder of the first half saw both teams cancel each other out with defensive units gaining the upper hand.

Villa emerged after the break with renewed purpose and began to dominate possession. Their pressure eventually told when Charlie Lawlor attacked a dangerous cross into the box and guided the ball into the bottom corner to put Villa ahead.

St Michaels showed resilience and drew level again from a well-delivered set piece, setting up a tense final period.

Villa regained the lead when O’Dwyer delivered a dangerous cross that was met perfectly by Conor Campion who finished confidently. As St Michaels pushed forward in search of another equaliser, gaps opened up at the back and O’Dwyer sealed the victory with a composed finish after beating his marker and cutting inside.

Peake Villa’s attacking quality and composure in the final stages proved decisive as they maintained their excellent winning streak.

Shanbally 3 – 5 SC&K

SC&K emerged victorious from a thrilling eight-goal contest against Shanbally in a match that swung dramatically throughout.

The opening stages were slow as both sides tried to find rhythm following several weeks without competitive action due to poor weather conditions.

SC&K eventually settled first and took the lead after fifteen minutes following a neat passing move that carved open the Shanbally defence.

Shanbally gradually grew into the game and found their equaliser before the break when Harry Byrne produced a moment of brilliance, striking from 25 yards to send the ball flying into the net.

Shanbally carried that momentum into the second half and quickly turned the match around. Two excellent finishes from Pa Hennessy put the home side 3–1 ahead and seemingly in control.

However SC&K showed tremendous determination and refused to allow the game slip away. Sean Hughes reduced the deficit with a powerful strike from the edge of the box before adding another to bring the sides level.

As the game entered its final stages Shanbally began to tire and SC&K took full advantage, scoring twice late on to seal a dramatic 5–3 victory.

Match Verdict:
A superb comeback from SC&K ensured they claimed the points after a highly entertaining encounter.

Mullinahone 1 – 3 Clonmel Town

Clonmel Town produced a composed performance to overcome Mullinahone in a competitive Youth Division fixture.

The home side made the brighter start and took an early lead when they capitalised on a defensive mistake to put Town on the back foot.

Clonmel Town responded quickly and restored parity soon afterwards with a well-taken finish to bring the game level.

The remainder of the half was closely contested with both teams working hard across midfield.

After the interval Town began to exert greater control and their improved passing movement allowed them to dictate the tempo.

They eventually took the lead midway through the second half before adding a third goal late on to secure the win.

Premier League
St Michaels 2 – 0 Cullen Lattin

St Michaels secured three valuable points at Cooke Park with a disciplined performance against Cullen Lattin.

The visitors made the brighter start and created the first opportunity when Jordan Dineen turned well in the box before his effort was blocked behind for a corner.

Moments later Joshua Flannery tested Saints goalkeeper Faolan Doyle with a well-struck half volley.

St Michaels gradually settled and began to create chances of their own. Jake Ffrench Davis came close on two occasions as the home side began to build momentum.

The breakthrough arrived on 25 minutes when David Slattery’s good work created space for Willie Armshaw who finished neatly with his left foot.

Armshaw nearly doubled the lead shortly before half-time when he struck the post with another effort.

The second goal arrived early in the second half when a corner was flicked on by Slattery and Cian Fadden allowing Daniel O’Dwyer to head home from close range.

St Michaels continued to control proceedings while Cullen battled hard to remain competitive.

Clonmel Celtic 0 – 5 Peake Villa

Peake Villa maintained their strong push for the Premier League title with an emphatic victory over Clonmel Celtic.

Villa started confidently and took the lead through Dale Lougnane after a well-worked move.

They doubled their advantage before half time when Pippy Carroll finished smartly.

Celtic battled hard but struggled to contain Villa’s attacking threat and the visitors continued to dominate possession throughout the second half.

Further goals from Keith Carroll, Kieran Hennessy and a second from Lougnane completed a comprehensive win.

Despite the defeat, Celtic can reflect on a season that saw them recover well after a difficult start before Christmas.

Division 1
Bansha Celtic 0 – 1 Galbally

Galbally secured a narrow victory in a closely fought contest where chances were limited.

Both sides battled strongly in midfield during the opening period and neither goalkeeper was seriously tested.

The decisive moment arrived in the 25th minute when a cross from the right found James O’Sullivan who finished confidently at the back post.

Bansha responded well and pushed for an equaliser during the second half.

Their best chance arrived when Bernard Fitzgerald curled an effort narrowly over the crossbar.

Galbally defended resolutely during the closing stages to protect their lead.

Wilderness 2 – 2 Two Mile Borris (B)

Wilderness and Two Mile Borris shared the spoils following an exciting encounter played in windy conditions.

Wilderness began brightly and created early chances through Dean McLoughlin and Ben Nugent.

Two Mile Borris gradually gained control of possession and eventually broke the deadlock in the 54th minute when Michael Anthony McCarthy finished from close range after a well-delivered free kick.

Wilderness responded in spectacular fashion as Seanie Hawkins produced an outstanding overhead kick to bring the game level.

Two Mile Borris regained the lead when Jack Delaney finished well after breaking through on goal.

However Wilderness refused to give up and deep into stoppage time Hawkins struck again with a clever lob to rescue a point.

Match Verdict:
Seanie Hawkins’ late heroics ensured Wilderness claimed a dramatic share of the spoils.

Division 2
Oldbridge 5 – 1 St Nicholas

Oldbridge delivered one of the most dominant performances of the weekend with a convincing victory over St Nicholas.

The home side started strongly and quickly took control of the game with their attacking movement causing constant problems.

Goals arrived at regular intervals as Oldbridge combined well and took their chances with confidence.

St Nicholas managed to pull one goal back but Oldbridge remained firmly in control and added further goals to secure an emphatic victory.

Match Verdict:
Oldbridge’s clinical finishing and attacking play proved far too strong on the day.

Vee Rovers 2 – 1 Rosegreen

Vee Rovers produced an excellent second-half comeback to defeat Rosegreen in extremely difficult weather conditions.

Rosegreen took advantage of the strong wind in the first half and took the lead shortly before the interval when Bradley Barry finished from close range.

Vee responded superbly after the break and began to apply sustained pressure.

Their equaliser came on the hour mark when Shane Mac’s excellent corner was finished by Paddy Morrissey.

With five minutes remaining Vee grabbed the winner when a long free kick caused confusion in the Rosegreen defence and Shane Mac reacted quickest to score.

Match Verdict:
A determined second-half performance earned Vee Rovers a deserved victory.

Mullinahone 3 – 2 Cahir Park (B)

Mullinahone secured a narrow victory in a competitive contest against Cahir Park (B).

Both sides battled hard throughout and the match remained evenly balanced.

Mullinahone took their chances well to build a narrow lead, while Cahir Park continued to press for an equaliser until the final whistle.

Match Verdict:
A tight game was ultimately decided by Mullinahone’s ability to take their chances.

Division 3
Burncourt 1 – 2 Cashel Town (B)

Cashel Town (B) claimed an important away victory after edging Burncourt in a competitive encounter.

Both sides worked hard throughout but Cashel proved slightly more clinical in front of goal.

Burncourt pulled a goal back but were unable to find the equaliser.

Tipperary Town (B) 1 – 8 Killenaule

Killenaule produced an outstanding attacking display to secure the biggest win of the weekend.

From the early stages Killenaule dominated possession and created numerous chances.

Their attacking players combined well and the goals flowed as the match progressed.

Tipperary Town battled hard but were unable to contain Killenaule’s relentless attacking pressure.

Match Verdict:
Killenaule delivered a ruthless attacking performance to run out emphatic winners.

Dualla 2 – 1 SC&K (B)

Dualla secured a hard-fought victory after a closely contested game with SC&K (B).

The breakthrough came shortly before half-time when Tossy Ryan converted confidently from the penalty spot.

SC&K responded after the interval and equalised from a corner in the 63rd minute.

However Ryan proved the hero again when he reacted quickest to a loose ball following a free kick to restore Dualla’s lead.

SC&K pushed forward in the closing stages but Dualla defended strongly to see out the victory.

Match Verdict:
Tossy Ryan’s brace proved decisive as Dualla secured a narrow win.
