Two Mile Borris 4 Ballymackey 3

After extra time — 3–3 at the end of normal time

Urban Nolan’s extra-time goal settled a dramatic cup tie after Borris had surrendered an early two-goal lead. Lewis Kearney set up Ben Slattery for the opener following an early Ballymackey chance, and Nolan supplied Slattery’s second in the tenth minute. Josh Coady then made several important saves as Ballymackey took control of much of the remaining first half.

Cathal Delaney and James Kennealy brought the visitors level within five minutes of the restart. Despite losing a player to a second yellow card around the hour, Ballymackey went ahead through Cian Galvin in the 65th minute. Borris recovered, and Danny Treacy headed in Jamie Lee’s corner on 80 minutes to force extra time.

Five minutes into the additional period, DJ Troy broke down the right and crossed for Nolan to finish. Jason Kelly subsequently had a penalty saved, leaving Borris to protect their narrow advantage and see out a hard-earned victory.

PRO Verdict: Borris found the response they needed when the tie threatened to escape them. Ten-man Ballymackey made them fight all the way, while Nolan’s extra-time finish proved decisive.

Bansha Celtic 2 Cashel Town 4

Cashel Town survived a second-half Bansha revival to progress after a six-goal tie. Alan O’Brien headed in a cross from the right after five minutes, Sean Fitzpatrick curled a free kick into the far corner on 20 minutes, and Ian Healy added another header on the half-hour to establish a 3–0 lead.

Bansha gave themselves a route back before the break when Eoin Halpin’s through ball released Eamon Quirke, who rounded the goalkeeper to score. The home side reduced the deficit again on the hour as Jack Crowe met a cross from the left at the back post.

With the advantage down to a single goal, Cashel needed a response. It arrived in spectacular fashion in the 70th minute when Callum Butler Buckley volleyed home from 20 yards, restoring the two-goal cushion and completing the scoring.

PRO Verdict: Cashel’s fast start laid the foundations, but Butler Buckley’s finish was crucial after Bansha had made a genuine contest of the tie.

Clodagh Rangers 0 Cullen Lattin 2

Two goals from Micheal Elligott and an assured display by Darren Hueston sent Cullen Lattin through at Drumbane. Cullen started positively and were rewarded in the 25th minute following a well-worked exchange involving Alan Hayes, Elligott and Tony O’Neill. O’Neill headed the ball back into Elligott’s path, and the striker struck a half-volley into the top-right corner from outside the box.

Clodagh tested Hueston twice before the interval, but the Cullen goalkeeper made important saves to preserve the lead. The hosts resumed strongly and created further openings without finding the target. Cullen extended their advantage in the 55th minute when Elligott met Mark Ryan Minor’s corner with another half-volley, this time into the bottom-right corner.

Both sides threatened again, but further good goalkeeping from Hueston helped Cullen finish with a clean sheet.

PRO Verdict: Elligott supplied the finishing quality and Hueston the security at the other end. Together, those contributions gave Cullen a valuable away cup win.

Wilderness Rovers 0 Peake Villa 3

Stephen Carroll scored twice as Peake Villa overcame a spirited Wilderness Rovers challenge. The hosts stayed compact during an evenly contested opening, with goalkeeper Sean Cagney claiming dangerous deliveries from both wings. At the other end, Pa Meehan won a free kick near the penalty area and Ian Clery’s effort tested the Villa goalkeeper.

Villa broke through in the 39th minute when Kieran Hennessy seized on a loose ball and fired home. They doubled the advantage three minutes into the second half: after Cagney made a save, Carroll converted from the resulting corner.

Wilderness continued to compete, but Villa added a third in the 71st minute. A loose ball in midfield allowed the visitors to drive forward and, although Cagney produced a point-blank stop, Carroll followed up to finish the rebound. The home side kept battling to the final whistle.

PRO Verdict: Villa made the decisive moments count, with Carroll’s two finishes helping turn a competitive opening into a clear victory. Wilderness deserve credit for their work rate and persistence.

Clonmel Town 2 Tipperary Town 0

Clonmel Town’s patience eventually paid off as two second-half goals broke down a determined Tipperary Town side at the Complex. The hosts enjoyed the greater share of possession from the outset, but the visitors’ defence, marshalled by Chester O’Dwyer, restricted clear openings. Timothy Esmonde tipped a long-range Jack Burke effort over the bar as the first half finished scoreless.

Town threatened early after the restart when Burke’s header from Graham Kelly’s corner was cleared off the line. Tipperary Town remained compact in two banks of four, and the home side’s frustration grew as a series of headed chances from corners went over.

The breakthrough arrived when Cillian Crowe was brought down in the penalty area. Ben Brown sent the goalkeeper the wrong way from the spot, and Stephen Kelly then punished loose marking at a corner with a volley into the top corner. Clonmel Town controlled possession through the closing stages to complete the win.

PRO Verdict: Clonmel Town kept working against a stubborn defence and found the quality to settle the tie. Tipperary Town’s organisation made them work hard for their passage.

Peake Villa B 1 SC&K 0

Division 1

Robert Jordan’s second-half penalty earned Peake Villa B a return to winning ways after recent league setbacks. With players already absent through injury, Villa suffered another blow when Kevin Croke was forced off after 15 minutes. A cagey opening half offered little to separate the teams, and they reached the interval scoreless.

The breakthrough came in the 56th minute when Liam McCormack was brought down inside the box. Jordan converted from the spot, opening up a game that had previously been tightly contested. Both sides fashioned half-chances thereafter, before SC&K applied sustained pressure over the final ten minutes. Villa’s defence held firm to secure the points.

PRO Verdict: A determined response from Villa B, whose defensive resilience was just as important as Jordan’s winning penalty.

Two Mile Borris B 2 Vee Rovers 3

Jack Darmody struck in the 93rd minute to win a remarkable late contest for Vee Rovers. Borris had taken the lead through Eamon Ryan in the 68th minute and still held the advantage entering the closing stages.

Jack Sullivan equalised for Rovers in the 83rd minute, and Darmody put the visitors ahead two minutes later. Borris hit back through Michael Anthony’s 88th-minute penalty to make it 2–2, only for Darmody to find the net again deep into stoppage time. Four goals from the 83rd minute onwards transformed the finish and left Rovers celebrating all three points.

PRO Verdict: Darmody’s late double decided a game that changed direction repeatedly. Borris showed resolve to level from the spot but could not prevent one final twist.

Old Bridge 1 Donohill 4

Donohill recovered from an early setback to record an emphatic away victory. Old Bridge began brightly and took the lead when Joussef Elseidi headed home after good work from Alex Greene and Jack Kennedy. The hosts resisted Donohill’s initial response, but injuries to Emmet Fahey and Greene disrupted their first half.

Padraig Bradshaw ran onto a through ball to equalise as half-time approached. Donohill then took command after the interval, Sam Carmody capitalising on hesitant defending to put the visitors ahead in the 48th minute. Denis Crosse added a close-range finish in the 59th minute after Old Bridge were penalised for delaying a throw-in.

The hosts threatened only intermittently through corners and free kicks as Donohill continued to control the contest. Sean Ryan completed the scoring in the 92nd minute, curling a fine free kick into the net to round off a strong second-half display.

PRO Verdict: Donohill were direct, forceful and clinical once they found their rhythm. Old Bridge’s promising start faded, and the visitors fully earned the three points.

Powerstown 4 v Cashel Town B 3

Aaron Moloney’s 92nd-minute finish provided the last twist in a thrilling contest in which Powerstown repeatedly fought their way back. Cashel took the lead after 13 minutes when Ronan Connolly found the bottom-left corner from outside the area. Gearóid Slattery then saved John Alan Lowes’ effort with his feet after a strong run and cross from Eoghan Heffernan.

Powerstown levelled in the 25th minute. Gino Lonergan threaded a pass between two defenders and Keelan Darcy finished confidently past the advancing goalkeeper. Cashel regained the lead six minutes before the break when Cian McGrath’s shot went through Peter Boland’s legs.

Four minutes after the restart, Conor Ryan struck from around 30 yards to make it 2–2. Blake Doyle Carroll restored Cashel’s lead with a free kick from the edge of the box in the 75th minute, but Powerstown converted an 83rd-minute penalty to draw level for a third time.

The decisive moment came in stoppage time when Powerstown failed to clear a cross and Moloney bundled the ball over the line. The supplied narrative records a 4–3 Cashel victory after an absorbing finish.

PRO Verdict: Cashel found a final answer to Powerstown’s repeated comebacks. The hosts’ determination deserved recognition, even as the late goal left them empty-handed in the supplied account.

Bansha Celtic B 9 SC&K B 4

Bansha Celtic B recovered from a two-goal deficit to win a remarkable thirteen-goal encounter at The Patch. After a lengthy break between matches, the home side were caught cold as SC&K struck in the sixth and seventh minutes. Bansha gradually settled, and Kevin Doyle’s 15th-minute goal began the response.

Sean Daly equalised on 22 minutes before Tony Egan’s free kick put Bansha ahead six minutes later. Eoin Gallagher added a superb 25-yard strike in the 31st minute, turning an uncertain start into a productive first half for the hosts.

James Scanlon punished a defensive mistake in the 56th minute. SC&K scored again on 61 minutes, but Bansha continued to find openings. Scanlon added his second on 66 minutes, Egan completed his own double two minutes later, and Bernard Fitzgerald scored in the 72nd minute. Charlie Crowe rounded off an impressive personal display with Bansha’s ninth on 77 minutes.

PRO Verdict: Bansha’s response to falling two goals behind was emphatic, with seven different scorers contributing. SC&K kept competing in a match full of attacking action.

Mullinahone B made home advantage count after the fixture was reversed, securing a 3–1 victory over Donohill B. The hosts controlled the opening exchanges and took the lead around the 20th minute before adding a second five minutes later. Donohill responded with a goal from a corner, reducing the deficit to 2–1 at the interval and keeping the contest alive.

Both sides created opportunities after the restart, but neither initially found the finish to change the score. Mullinahone eventually struck for a third time to restore their two-goal cushion and secure all three points.

PRO Verdict: Mullinahone’s strong start laid the foundations for victory. Donohill’s reply kept them in contention, but the hosts found the decisive third goal to see out the game.

Tipperary Town B 3 St Michaels B 2

Scorers: Tipperary Town B – Mark Flannery, Sean Tate (2). St Michael’s B – Alfie O’Halloran, Mikey Bowes.

Tipperary Town B earned local bragging rights with a memorable 3–2 victory over St Michael’s B at the Abbey, recording their first-ever win over their neighbours and a third consecutive victory. Glorious sunshine and a fantastic crowd provided the backdrop to a fiercely contested derby that remained in the balance until the final whistle.

Town made a flying start and were awarded a penalty after just three minutes. Timmy Ryan’s well-weighted through ball released Sean Tate, who was brought down inside the area. Mark Flannery took responsibility and showed considerable composure, producing a cheeky Panenka to deceive the Saints goalkeeper and give the hosts an early advantage.

The opening half developed into a bruising physical contest, with chances at both ends and both teams striking the woodwork. Town doubled their lead in the 23rd minute when Aaron Hickey cushioned the ball into Tate’s path, allowing the forward to slot home and send the home supporters into full voice.

St Michael’s responded positively and earned a deserved lifeline late in the half. Antonio Rea did excellent work to find Alfie O’Halloran, who finished neatly to reduce the deficit and leave the derby finely poised at 2–1 heading into the interval.

Despite being forced into two changes for the second half, Town maintained their shape, cohesion and discipline. Their reward arrived in the 62nd minute when Alan Carter’s corner was only partially cleared. Tate reacted superbly around the penalty spot, meeting the loose ball with a first-time volley that nestled in the bottom corner to restore the hosts’ two-goal cushion.

The Saints introduced fresh legs and increased the pressure as they chased a way back into the contest. Their persistence paid off when good work down the left led to a handball by Town’s Shane Maher. Mikey Bowes stepped up and powered home the resulting penalty, setting up a tense finish.

Town’s defence stood firm under the mounting pressure, while goalkeeper Luke Bennett produced a crucial intervention with approximately ten minutes remaining. Faced with a one-on-one opportunity for the visitors, Bennett pulled off an excellent save to preserve his side’s slender advantage.

The hosts held their nerve through the closing stages to secure a landmark result, much to the delight of managers Marcus Godfrey and Timmy Ryan and the vocal home support.

PRO Verdict: A historic afternoon for Tipperary Town B, whose sharp finishing and defensive resolve proved decisive in a compelling local derby. Sean Tate’s two-goal contribution took the scoring honours, but Luke Bennett’s vital late save and a determined collective defensive effort were equally important in securing a third successive victory. St Michael’s B played their part in a gripping contest, twice cutting the deficit to a single goal, but Town showed the composure needed to see the job through.

Ballingarry 2 Cashel Town 3

Cashel Town struck in injury time to settle an excellent contest at Ballingarry, where both sides contributed to a game full of chances and late drama. The opening exchanges were evenly matched before Danny Cashin broke the deadlock in the 37th minute. Collecting Eoin Boylan’s free kick near the edge of the box, Cashin turned and shot, with a slight deflection helping the ball into the bottom corner.

Cashel began the second half strongly and equalised after 58 minutes. Ballingarry quickly restored their advantage, Jack Morrissey finding the net with a fine long-range strike on the hour. The visitors levelled again in the 76th minute with a close-range effort that struck both posts before crossing the line.

Both teams pushed for the winner. Boylan went agonisingly close for Ballingarry in the 86th minute, but Cashel delivered the decisive finish in injury time to take all three points.

Mullinahone 3 SC&K 3

SC&K twice fought their way back to earn a point in an entertaining six-goal draw at Mullinahone. The hosts struck after only four minutes and held that advantage through the opening half, with both sides creating opportunities without adding to the score.

Mullinahone doubled their lead almost immediately after the restart, putting themselves in a strong position. SC&K responded with determination, pulling one back before finding an equaliser as the home side failed to make the most of their own chances.

The hosts rallied to regain the lead, but the visitors continued to press. Their persistence brought a late equaliser, ensuring the points were shared after a contest in which neither side could make an advantage secure.

PRO Verdict: SC&K’s refusal to accept defeat earned their reward. Mullinahone will reflect on a two-goal cushion and a later lead that both slipped away.

Clonmel Town 5 Peake Villa 1

Clonmel Town’s attacking quality came to the fore in a lively meeting played in bright sunshine. Peake threatened early after a Town defender lost sight of the ball in the sun, but the resulting shot cleared the bar. Town responded with a looping Shane Hennessy header that forced the visiting goalkeeper to tip over.

Hennessy opened the scoring when he reacted quickest after Peter O’Brien’s shot struck the post. Town began to pin Villa back, although Lorcan Walsh produced an excellent save following a swift visiting break. Koby Quinn then headed in Leon Kelly Joyce’s corner, before Hennessy turned neatly inside the box and squared for Fred Ffrench Davis to make it 3–0.

Town continued to threaten after the interval. O’Brien ran onto a diagonal pass from Kelly Joyce and finished beyond the advancing goalkeeper. Villa’s keeper subsequently denied Kelly Joyce, while Charlie Lawlor pulled a goal back for the visitors with a fine strike from distance. Kelly Joyce supplied the final flourish, driving a 25-yard free kick into the bottom corner.

PRO Verdict: Town’s variety in attack and sharp combination play were central to a strong performance.
